Fixing stage: "Winnie" interior design

Overseas family and friends, sorry for keeping you waiting. It has been awhile since my last blog. The house is now very close to finish, and it has been a very busy weeks trying to ensure things are going smooth.

A lot of our family and friends properly know by now, when we first start building our house. Michael and I had agreed on this, he will decide the exterior looks and I will focus on the interior design.

Therefore, when the tilers and painters start working on the interior. It is my most excited (nervous) moment out of the whole building process. I wish all the colors that I decided in the Cosham studio will not turn out to be a big difference to reality. Turns out beside the wall paint color is slightly towards creamy color than more of a blue grey shade. It could also because of afternoon sun light. Will have a closer look when the lightnings are in.

Enclosed stage completed - another stage raise...

It is time to catch up on our blog.

We have been very busy buying lighting in the last couple of weeks after we have been told by our site administrator that it is time to do so, so that we can provide them at practical completion stage. It is another blog when it comes to picking light fittings for the whole house. I have so much fun in the light shop which we had spent hours.

Let's have a look at our enclosed stage inspection.

Enclosed stage

22nd March 2015

While I was sick with a cold in bed (yes, I know...again). Michael went up to check on the progress.

Garage's roof went up as per promise during our first on site inspection. We also got doors, windows some external weather proof blue sheets installed.

First inspection (Frame stage)

10th March 2015

I and Michael drove up for our first on site inspection. Without knowing how bad was the traffic, we were 15 minutes early. I checked my calendar to ensure I didn't mix up our appointment and watching BuildSafe's workers going into the mobile toilet (embarrassing).

BuildSafe's workers were there removing the living areas' roof safety fences at the time. Since the garage roof was not installed, they left the safety fences for that area.

First floor frame completed

1st March 2015

While I was laying on bed, sneezing, blowing my nose, coughing and breathing with my mouth. Nothing stopped Michael (Imagine him walking against the snow storm). He went up to the lot and check on the progress this week.

I thought that the rain will at least halt the construction for a day or two. But it did not look like it at all. Within one week, they had the first floor and roof frame up. It is amazingly quick.

Frame up, rain down

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. There is a lot of catch up to do in this blog. Michael and I have not been well in the last two weeks, just could not get rid of the cold.

22nd February 2015

Cyclone Marcia did not slow down our building process. We were very luck, we did not get heavy storm or strong wind in Brisbane, we only got heavy rains every now and then.

Slab is done!

On 8th Feb 2015, we went up to the lot and check it out. As per the timeline given by Plantation Homes, we should have piers completed at this stage, drains should be completed on the 9th Feb and slab should be poured on the 12th Feb.

When we got there, we found these things on our dirt (Yes, it is still dirt to me even the land is compacted).
